  • I believe one of the things is that the same type of geological deposits or makeup are found on both.
  • My guess is that they look a lot like pieces of a puzzle. The east coast of South America looks like it was once joined with the west coast of Africa.
  • It's not, by itself. It was known for centuries that the continents fit together. The confirming evidence, however, comes from detailed comparisons of the rocks and fossils on the two continents.
  • Same cartography, same geology, same fossil record... it's pretty obvious. Continental drift has been accepted for well over 50 years now.
