I don't know what the Legal day would be, if there is one. But I was just paid today.
-
It depends on your state law, however, if there is no state law pertaining to that, it would fall back on company policy.

In our organisation, if our pay falls on a holiday or at the weekend, it's paid the Friday before. For instance, our usual day date is 25th of the month. But as 25th November falls on a Sunday, we'll get paid on Friday, 23rd November. Next month, I think we'll get paid on Friday 21st December.

I've been some places that pay you the day before, but most places pay you the first business day after the holiday. So, in this case, it would be Friday. I'm not sure of any laws that pertain to this... it's probably just a case of company policy.

I am wondering about this now as my payday falls on Thanksgiving.
-
I think it's up to the company. In England, most companies pay your salary one month in arrears, but choose to make the payday some time before then, so as long as it's not later than the end of the month (or pay period), I don't believe there is any legal issue involved.
-
I would believe that to be a point of company policy. Don't think there is a legal requirement.
