  • I befriended a guy that used to sleep outside my apartment block, we'd have chats for a couple of months each day and share books, i'd bring him a sandwich...The poor guy just had a spate of bad luck, i realised that it can really happen to anyone. He was so grateful for the company..
  • I have gone without, to help before and would willingly do it again to help someone worse of than me
  • I've given many a place to live in the past. I had to stop that. Now I give food, clothing, cash whatever I can.
  • i have two young women living with me now, one with a 4 year old...one was living in her car and the other was 3-4 days away from living in her car with her child. they pay no rent but they have to prove that they are saving 50% of their income and both are college students (one full-time, one part-time). in exchange for rent/food, they do everything around the house except my laundry...well, they even do that sometimes...one used to work for a hotel, she even changes my sheets and makes my bed...i give them money for groceries and they do the shopping and the cooking...it's a great deal for all of us because i work alot right now. one will move out around the end of october and the other will probably be here another year or so. (they are so grateful they even mow the grass!)
