Tell them! (in a nice way, lol)
-
let them know it is bad for the heart.
-
First I try to point out the hostility second I try to suggest you draw more flies with honey than vinegar third I throw up my hands and leave them to it.
-
If it's a family member hostile with someone else, I try to remove them from the situation, "come over here," and show them a picture or start talking with them about other things. If it's someone being hostile with me, I don't even bother, I just walk away.
-
"Is it me, or is something wrong... you seem hostile to me? I didn't intend to offend you -- is it something I said?"
-
I would ask "are you mad at me?".
-
I would say "If you want to save alot of money on dental work.I would shut up right about now"! and smile(The smile is important).
-
generally, i try to get away from the hostile person. if that isn't possible, i might handle them in a less-than-nice way. sometimes there's nothing wrong with being a bitch.
-
I (nicely) explain that this is the reason I carry a gun, just in case someone like yourself gets in my face.
-
Nicely? Well, if it's an acquaintance or a stranger, I ask them if they're having a bad day or something... and tell them to please stop. If it's a friend, I tell them I love them, too. :P

I wackity wack wack wack!...but with a smile........

Hostility thrives on throwing the other party off guard and eliciting a hostile response in return. If hostility is met with calm, it has nothing to feed on. While everyone needs healthy boundaries in their lives, treating the person who is hostile to you with respect, courtesy, and kindness will throw them off guard and often diffuse the situation. The book of Proverbs says that "a gentle answer turns away wrath."
