When we were growing up in Australia, our oldies still clung to the idea of a traditional roast dinner, hot pudding and custard etc even though it was 40 deg celsius! Nowadays, most aussies have decided to abandon the inside cooking and go for barbecues and seafood.

I tried just having turkey or ham but there is always someone who wants the one that I am not having so I make both. Also, Sage dressing, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes and gravy, Yeast Rolls, purple passion, green bean cassarole, and baked yams w/molasses and marshmellows and a Cottage Cheese salad, Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie, and whipped cream, are the old traditions. If I fail to make any one of these, someone is asking where they are so I just make them. Then we eat for weeks ;o)

Turkey, dressing, potatoes, carrots, turnips (I don't like those, but others do), maybe green beans and of course gravy. For dessert, my famous pineapple-upside-down cake, my step-mom's famous trifle and whipped cream.
