Should "under God" in the US pledge be replaced with "under Goddess"? Why or why not?

Not. God doesn't necessarily imply that God is a male, whereas Goddess most certainly does.

No thanks, how about just "under all respective powers, gods, goddess's, or respective forces considered to be life altering or all powerful"

If you want to have a god, it should not be supposed to be either male or female. Christianity is supoosed have a non anthropomorphic god, and as soon as you apply terms like he or she, anthropomorphic images are conjured up. God should be thought of as a holy enity, a presence, rather than a concrete creature with physical dimensions.

I don't even like pledging allegiance to a flag. Makes me feel like a NAZI. I'd rather be patriotic to America itself.

I would rather they did away with any reference to deity. There is no way to not offend someone with either. But then, not having reference to deity would offend others.

If your contemplating changes. You might as well change "one nation" to 'one flock of sheep". I say leave it the way it is. It works for me.

not. It should be replaced with "one nation, united" or something that doesn't favour anything over another. If you do want to favour one, I'd choose God only because it's probably pissing off the lowest number of people. far more believers in (any particular) God than (any particular) Goddess, in this country at least.

no, they should just get rid of any reference to religion in the pledge. christianity is an opinion, and people who dont want to share it shouldnt have to.

No. The entire reference, which was not part of the original anyway, should be removed and not replaced at all with any reference to deity.

NO NO NO NO NO!!!! This political correctness crap is going to destroy this nation. We should keep it under god and put it in BOLD if we have to... We shouldn't change it to be politically correct!!! the few athiests in this country that are challenging this don't really care about this, they just like to try to get things to be exactly how they want, even if it means trampling on OTHERS rights. The reference "under god" doesn't require you to believe in a god, or anything else...it just shows that our founding fathers and others believed in a higher being... Ok, that's enough...but lets stop the politicall correctness HERE!!!

niether god or goddess is acceptable because We all are diffrent in belief. One of the major things that makes the United States, is it's diffrent culutures and tolerance is necassary to have so many different peoples United in one Nation. We are a nation of majority and minority and We now need to accomidate not only GOD FEARING christians but atheist non-belivers. What seperates them is faith...but We can not force another individual in a free world to accept faith if they dont believe in it. So having our children recite something that has a profound spiritual and political meaning for some and means nothing to others. We cannot force religion!!!!!!!
