I enjoy listening to the harpsichord, it's beautiful music!
-
I love either one. Especially if they involve a nice Bach concerto.
-
I like the piano more than the harpsichord, but I guess it's too big a difference.
-
Piano. Harpsichord has more of a grating sound, and piano has more of a soul to it. You can also create better dynamics. I like the softer tone of a piano
-
The Piano it has a far wider range. The harpsichordis delightful but limited.

Music written before 1750 sounds best on the harpsichord, but works reasonably well on the piano. Music written after 1780 usually requires the piano due to variations in dynamics which the harpsichord is incapable of. I have played 19th-20th century music on the harpsichord, and find that it would work. Keyboard instruments are enough alike to switch from one to another.

I think the harpsichord really came into fame, with the musical score from the movie "Love Story", back in the 70s.

I enjoy both, but after a while the limits of the harpsichord that led to the invention of the piano become apparent. It plays only one level of volume, which can make it difficult to convey a range of emotion. Thus the invention of the loud/soft, pianoforte.
