  • I think I always knew. My first kiss was with a boy in my second grade class. I came out in college and my family's been cribbing since.
  • I first really realized it when I met my first "girlfriend" when I was a sophomore in High School. She helped me get in touch with how I really felt all that time. I didn't actually come out until my second "girlfriend" (it didn't last long). I wrote my dad a letter and told him I had a girlfriend in the romantic sense of the word, and he was so good about it. I am very lucky this way. I guess that was about 7 years ago.
  • I knew over 40years ago that I was bi and I have never seen the point or had the urge to 'come out'...never need the world to know my sexual preferences...the only people who needed to know that were the people I was 'bumping uglies' with and I have been perfectly happy with that and never had any problems and still don't today
  • I was a lesbian back in middle school.. Realized I was bisexual freshman year in HS. Came out Junior year, HS :)
  • I knew I was gay when I was about 13. But, I didn't come out until I was an adult. I spent too many years in hiding, even from myself...Not a good idea...I don't reccomend denial.
  • I knew I was straight the day I had sex with another woman.
  • I saw a music video that had a guy wearing a dress in it. I never really had to "come out," I just kind of said I was.
  • I knew I was "different" when I was 8 or 9, but I didn't know what to call it. I fully realized I was gay in high school, but I managed to stay locked tightly in the closet until I was 35. I don't recommend it to anyone. Being out is the only way to go. I'm much better off now.
  • I first had an inkling (that I was bi) when I was thirteen, because I developed a crush on a girl(a lesbian). Well, she ended being my first girlfriend, shortly after I came out. That was in March or February of last year.
  • looking back, I was always attracted to other girls. back then, nobody talked about being gay. I knew I wasn't attracted to guys by junior high, but I guess I was in denial. I finally "knew" my 1st semester of college when I was 18 and I fell for a gal I had a lot of classes with. by then, the early 80s, all the homophobes had another "reason" to point fingers and say they hated us when AIDS came to light. So, I was scared and was in the closet for a long time (lots of wasted years). I didn't really start "coming out" until my mid 30s. Now I'm out to everyone, and everyone loves and accepts me for who I am. If I only knew that years before!
  • Im not personally but two of my best friends are, they started 'coming out' around year 8-9.
  • I first realized I was bisexual when I was 13, but I knew I liked guys well before then. When I was 11 I had a...very unusual experience with a friend of mine, and from then until I was 13 and had fooled around a little with a girl I had freaked out that I was a "fag". I never really came out, I kinda was just open from the front.
  • I'm still not out, but I'm considering coming out very soon
  • I discovered I was bi when I couldnt explain feelings I was having for a friend of a friend. She introduced us and the girl and I ended up dating for a while. I have told my immediate family, but thats it. Nobody else really needs to know unless they ask.
  • i've known almost all my life, even before i had sexual feelings or understanding. umm, the only people i really haven't come out to are my parents
  • I knew I was attracted to females at a very young age...I did not act on the feelings until age 22.
  • I was scared to express my romantic love for my best friend for a long time. I'd been with many men (most would say way too many men) and I'd never really fallen in love until it occurred to me that I actually loved *her* instead of them. When I dared to tell her how I felt, she revealed through relieved tears that she was in love with me too. Now we're a couple, living together and yes, making love. I could kick myself for waiting so long. She is my world now. This was in July 2008.
  • About 9 0r 10 I knew it was due South!
  • about 13ish. I thought I was a lesbian for a time.
  • I never got an orientation. Oh, my father tried to have that talk with me, but he was pretty embarrassed trying to talk about the birds and bees. So....I'm self taught. ;-)
  • Around 13, 14 or so.
  • 10 at the latest. Possibly earlier.
  • I was in my mid 40s
  • Looking back, I was always attracted to my same gender, but I didn't really know what "gay" was until I was in my late teens. I finally realized I was a lesbian when I was 18.
  • A few weeks ago.
