Yes, but only if I thought legal or illegal recourse wouldn't work in a better way. AKA get them out with a lawyer or break them out.

If they were innocent or too harshly punished.

No. I would try and fight the system, and it would suit no purpose of my being "locked up". Also, I can swear up and down I was guilty, but States evidence would still have to be proven of it.
