What is it?

My ex-wife had it. I got so tired of hearing how ugly that she looked. It got to the point that it started to insult me, because why would I have a married somebody so hideous.

Yes - I'm 30 and I've had it all my life - well as far back as I can remember and its the most awful burden. I cannot live a normal life. My current partner (of 2.5 yrs) doesn't even know I have it. He just thinks I'm very odd lol. I've had surgery once and wish I could have more but there are too many things wrong with me that I wouldnt know where to start. When I look in the mirror, I dont feel too bad usually but when I see a photograph thats when my BDD really erupts. I will do ANYTHING to avoid having my photo taken - including missing weddings and parties of my closest friends etc. Sounds completely selfish I know - but this disorder really does eat into you and makes you completely obsessive with how you look. Although i would love to, unfortunately, getting married myself is TOTALLY out of the question!!

I do. I will always see myself as being fatter and more awkward-looking than I actually am. I guess I should say, I'll always be looking through circus mirrors. And the worst part is that the body fat isn't half as much an issue as my skin. I have nightmares where I look old and hairy.

I do.

I don't know anyone personaly, but I think that Michael Jackson is a clear example!! :( When I looked it up on wikipedia there also were Marylin Monroe and Uma Thurman. Though I would never think that they were suffering from it.
