  • My name. It was given to me by my parents. I use it proudly. I keep it because it is the best posession I have. I would lose my very identity if I were to let it go.
  • I still have the Teddy Bear I got for Christmas in 1963. We were living off base in Zweibruken, Germany, my father was an air force fire fighter for crash & rescue. Our landlady gave it to me. It sits on a shelf, I no longer cuddle or sleep with it. I keep it for sentimental reasons and because she was my first baby sitter and she taught me to speak German. It is also a hand made original and an antique ... it was made by our landlady's grandmother in 1887, is in excellent condition and is worth a lot of money to certain collectors. I would rather not let it go, but nothing much would happen if I did ... I would miss it.
  • my chinese necklase with my year on it: monkey. got it as soon as i was born from my grandma (from hong kong). I wear it every single day and i don't take it off, i keep it cause i put my ring which mum gave to me, and it's valuble, and if i let it go, well, i'd still be alive, but i woulnd't for long. my grandma (who constistantly insults me and my family) would never speek to me again. only to say 'im going to kill you'.... ouch. yep, that's my life story.
  • I made my grandmother a wagon with a big fat wagon wheel when I was in the 1st grade - made of ice cream stick, glitter and paste. I still remember giving it to her and she was so thrilled. She kept it right above her kitchen sink at eye level. When she died, my dad took it and now he is gone and I have it back. It brings back fond memories, to say the least. Simple yet full of sentiment.
  • I have a Sound of Music doll that I received for Christmas when I was 8.
