  • There is no exact number, as each woman is different. Many women experience bloating around 6-8 weeks of pregnancy, but this usually goes down. The typical protruding belly usually begins to develop in the second trimester (3 months and on). However, this may only be noticeable to the woman and those close to her, until later on in the pregnancy. In my experience, a woman only begins to look very obviously pregnant around 6 months and on. Keep in mind however, that this is for first pregnancies. Women who have already given birth before often begin to show a little earlier in subsequent pregnancies, because the uterine and stomach muscles have been stretched.
