I'm not a doctor, but from personal experience, I still had migraines while I was taking antidepressants. It may depend on the type. I was taking zoloft.

For some people, they can. Headache specialists will treat migraines with two different types of medications. One type is to be taken at the first sign of a headache, in order to "short circuit" the process. Medications like imitrex are in this category. The other type is a medication to be used chronically to prevent migraines from starting in the first place. Antidepressants such as zoloft have been effective, as have mood stabilizers like topamax.

In this matter only "amitriptillin-a derivatipn of benzodiazeinz" was used in the past. Yet it's been observed that putting aside the positive effect by those sort of speculative curing agents migraine attackes could be provoked by them especially if they are taken just before sleep.
