beacause bacon needs to be fried but some peole do bake it with other food espically that thin bacan stuff and many people pefer it fried and cookies need the all around heat in the oven for the proper chemical reactions to make it turn to a cookie if you tried to cook a cookie it whould turn to mush then completly harden beacause it would spread out and thin so it just burns
