  • Yes, the should. Because of the size of our country, allowing states to enforce immigration laws would make the most sense. (The Fed government should make sure we have a handy-dandy country-wide database linkup to track these incidents).

  • Isn't it also a state responsibility? The federal government has jurisdiction to regulate interstate commerce and international relations, but states also have jurisdiction to protect their own borders. The only time a state cannot regulate its own borders is when a federal law or the constitution preempts them.
  • I think they should. Right now in Irving, Texas there has been a crack down by the local police. The illegals are keeping their kids home from school... all sorts of crazy stuff. All the police are doing is checking the ones they arrest for breaking laws. If they aren't legal they turn them over to the ones in charge of immigration, if they are legal, they go to jail for the laws they broke.
  • Citizens should enforce the laws. Get the government out of this.
