No. What Company A should do is either request that you take that week as PTO, offer to bring you back to Company A for the week of shutdown or pay you. You are not working FOR Company B and cannot be forced into taking their holidays off without pay. Company B has hired Company A, not you personally, as a contractor. I have worked under these conditions before and my employer always had me come back to my own company during any holiday time that was not recognized by them.

Agree with DisEnchanted....you can aske for PTO for that week but they can't refuse to pay you as long as youhave PTO to use.
