  • Amazing! I guess that is a city that never sleeps or reads.
  • They would probably call themselves "UNliterate" lol
  • What about these? I don't live in Miami, I just did a quick search on Citysearch.com Brandeis Book Store 850 Ives Dairy Rd Ste T10 Miami, FL 33179 Cervantes Book Store 1898 SW 8th St Miami, FL 33135 Agni Corner Book Store 10940 W Flagler St Ste 401 Miami, FL 33174 Barnes & Nobles 7710 N Kendall Dr Miami, FL 33156 ...and a few more.
  • oddly enough, to be quite honest (speaking only on observations from having lived in miami most of my life) bookstores are few and far between the entire south Florida area. Those of us who read a lot tend to be willing to drive a good 10 miles to the nearest book store. That aside, I'm positive there is atleast 1 bookstore in Miami- I've seen atleast 1 downtown, but of course I cannot remember it's address.
  • Incorperated Miami is actualy a small area. Unincorperated Miami which is where most of the residents live has many many bookstores. There is actualy a great Bookstore in Lincoln rd, which is definitley in incorperated miami (Sorry i dont know the name) Maybe the residents prefer to support thier local business or maybe this says more about the big coperate book stores.
  • The males are too busy to read. They spend their time gawking at the half naked women here.
  • This is ridiculous - of course there are bookstores in Miami. Lots of them. As far as unincorporated Dade being considered Miami, that's just how this city works; it's not like NYC with bouroughs. Living outside of the City of Miami city limits doesn't mean you're in the suburbs. But still, I'm sure there are some downtown. People in Miami read too, obviously... There are tons of book stores.
  • That's very strange, what's the average IQ in Miami? I live within 5 mins of at least 4 bookstores and i live in the country!
  • It actually doesn't speak to the character of its residents because unincorporated parcels are unincorporated because they don't generate enough tax revenue to be picked up a local municipality. If you drive around to see what's most unincorporated property looks like it's mostly residental property in which you have to provide services(police, fire, parks, roads, sewers, etc) versus incorporates property which can pay for itself thru taxes.
