Have a mitsubishi tv. Has been on surround sound for some time. Trying to get tv speakers to work. Showing speaker off. Any idea how to turn tv speakers on? No longer has manual

I have an older Mitsubishi, don't know the model ## but this solved my problem of "speaker off" without using a remote. First, on my tv when I would press the volume button up or down the sign "speaker off" would show up on the screen. Before this sign goes off of the screen press the "adjust button" up or down until you have the result that you want. I hope that this helps!!
