If you cut the direction of the print on the fabric, you need to cut the rest of the pattern the same direction. If you cut it straight of the grain or crosswise, just cut them all the same direction. It works for me and all turns out fine. Hope this helps.

The main reason for cutting with the grain of the fabric is to keep it from sagging. If the print does not allow this, cut with the print, and use stay-stitching on all pieces before you sew the seams together. That will help prevent sagging. You could also iron on a very thin lining before you cut it, and that will keep your fabric in place.

It would depend what piece of the garment you are referring to, if it is a main piece than everything must be cut on the same grain, you can use different material but it should be of the same weight (usually same type but different color) but if it's a pocket that is sewn on top of the garment than use your imagination.
