Why does "spooning" sound like such a dirty word even though its just another word for cuddling?

Spooning does not sound dirty to me..."Forking" does... :p

I think it is because there is a certain suggestive position to it and cuddling doesn't have to have that one position. Plus, it can be a sexual position as well as just cuddling, albeit, a more difficult one.
