The majority of porn is directed to the male audience as they are the target group who, in the main, will spend the money more easily. Recently there has been an upsurge in the interest made by women for porn (this has always been there but sublimated as a result of the views of society in general towards women looking or participating in 'dirty stuff'). Many women express an interes in gay porn (male male porn) and this is exactly the same as men expressing interest in lesbian porn (a big seller. I personally believe that men watch porn and look as much at the male - his equipment - his techniques etc as they do at the woman and find the entire thing a turn on. As for straight men watching gay porn I find that quite a few blokes actually find it a mild turn on at times. Hope this helps you. x

In my experience written erotica tends to appeal a lot more to women than men - most men seem to require a certain amount of visual stimulation whereas women are happier to fill in the details using their imaginations (I have met several notable exceptions to this rule, but generally men seem to find stories a bit too much like hard work.) I've seen porn by female directors made with a female audience in mind - and what struck me was that although the sex was just as frequesnt and actually a bit more extreme than the "male" porn I've seen there seemed a)to be more of a story going on (I think women tend to want to know *why* the star is fucking the window cleaner before they can enjoy watching it!) which confused but didn't bother my boyfriends and b) far more attractive male stars - which did bother them a bit. One boyfriend told me that the reckoned the main reason men like lesbian porn is because there's no man to feel jealous of (or worry that you might turn gay if you see his willy, because some men are still twelve years old apparently...).
