  • Could be many things but I would look for a sizable vacuum leak first. A hose that has come off or a PCV valve stuck open. After that I would suspect the 'Idle Air Solenoid' Its a little electronic valve located on the throttle body that adjusts air flow at idle.
  • Try removing your air cleaner. A dirty air cleaner can mess up your air to fuel mixture. If it works with the filter out, get a new filter. Don't drive with it like that or you'll have worse problems.
  • A poor connection to your battery or a low battery could cause this. I have had this problem a few times and it was always the terminal on my battery intermittently making good contact. Clean your terminals and your connectors with battery terminal cleaner and scrub them with a wire brush. I know this sounds lame, but the durango uses the batery to power some sensor, I guess. You can even drive it with one foot on the brake and one on the gas, right?
