  • Not living life to the fullest because you are afraid/negative of everything and everyone is pretty sad to me.
  • Of course I agree, that is highly pessimistic. Actually I can't think of anything to top that.
  • Maybe by completing that outlook and not believing that there's an afterlife...
  • You're literally born to die. Every breath you take brings you a little closer to your demise, making death the ultimate goal in life. It's the one thing that humans obsess over, try to cheat, figure out....prolong meeting - why else would there be doctors? Why else are doctors so highly paid, if NOT to help you cheat death and slow down the dying process. I agree. You're dying as we speak. (How was that for pessimistic?)
  • Well that is indeed pessimistic. But WORSE would be that everything you will do before you die is USELESS BECAUSE you will eventually die anyway and everybody else too.
  • surely there is something more pessimistic. i mean, death is not a negative thing to some people. i can work on some more pessimistic thoughts if you'd like... for now: life is pointless, painful & there is nothing after death except an empty void.
  • Death, sadly, might be a form of consolation to some. I prefer the old nugget: "Life sucks, then you die"
  • Yes I suppose that could be construed as a true statement, not the happiest thought to start each day with but something to ponder on.
  • I don't think that's pessimistic. It's just a fact. If it weren't true, we'd have to die of other-than-natural causes. The most pessimistic outlook for me is to assume that everyone is out to screw over everyone else.
  • I believe that is said by the garavedigger in HAMLET, and it is not only true, it is a way to look at life so that we give as much as we can to each moment of life! And there is much after this life -- the legacy we leave behind and what we look forward to on the other side.
  • The way I look it at, you are born dead. A stillborn. At least I was. Yes, I know. I'm charming.
