  • I use a wonderful program that a fellow ABer told me about called "Snagit." It's simple!
  • Hold the Alt key and press print screen. I am not sure that that will work on all OSs but it will on windows. You can then open a word processing program (Word for example), right click and select paste.
  • on the top right of your keybord there's the print screen button.
  • This question was asked on someone elses behalf. This answer is to help Windows users only. The Windows Print Screen Key can be a powerful tool if you know how to use it to its full potential. The sole function of this key is to take a snapshot or picture of your computer screen and copy it to the clipboard (the clipboard is an invisible holding area for content that is copied). Its the same thing as if you copied something from a document and it is now on your clipboard waiting to be pasted in its final destination. Its that simple. The Print Screen key may appear differently depending on the manufacturer of your Windows keyboard. The standard position would be at the upper right hand corner of your keyboard and may appear within this sequence of keys... F9 > F10 > F11 > F12 > Print Screen > Scroll Lock > Pause/Break It is often abbreviated Prt Scr. To capture your screen content simply press the Print Screen button. Now, how do you get to see those Screen Captures or maybe even send them to someone? The quickest and most effective method is to have a graphics editing program handy. If that is not an option, you can open your favorite word processing program and create a new document. Position your cursor at the beginning of the document or wherever you want the screenshot to appear. Using your keyboard, press Ctrl + V which will Paste the screenshot in your open document. Now you can Save (Ctrl + S) the document to wherever you wish, make sure to name it appropriately so you can easily find it. You can now send this file to anyone via email, use it in a presentation, create your own little book of screenshots showing how to perform a specific task, etc. The possibilities are endless. • For Windows systems can I add this to other answers. The Print Screen key copies the entire display (image 1) and holding down the Alt key while pressing Print Screen copies only the active window (image 2).
  • On a Mac it is the apple key, shift and the number 3. Hold all three down together and that will take a screen shot and save it to your desktop. The apple key, shift and 4 lets you drag a box across your screen and take a shot of just what you want instead of the entire screen.
  • for a mac, you hold apple (or command) shift 3 to take a full screen shot, or if you want to just choose a certain area, change the 3 to a 4 and drag around the part you want.
  • all you gotta do is hit the print scrn button on your keyboard (windows) you can then open up microsoft word and press contro v (paste)
  • here's what i do on my windows XP: 1. press the "Print Screen" button. (found in upper right hand corner) 2. open paint on accessories. 3. press ctrl+V. i got this off of the runescape guide that my brother has.
  • For Windows and Linux press the "Prt Scr" button. For Windows you'll then need the extra step of having to "paste" the screenshot into another application before being able to save it. On Mac OS OX, use shift-apple-4 or use the Grab application.
  • I do what the others have mentioned, but I also use the "Snipping Tool" if I want just a specific portion of the screen, or even an image, or partial image from a paused video. I'm using Vista.
  • I use 5clicks.com program. It allows me to print the captured screen. Download it from here: http://www.screen-capture.net/ It's very inexpensive program and I've been using it for many years. I highly recommend it.
