Who is the "black sheep" of your family? What makes them so different?

I am ... I refuse to be set into a corporeal mold based on centuries of tradition. I respect my Elders, but I will not bow to the forces of tradition.

I am definately the black sheep. And I am so because I am not who my parents desperately wish me to be. By complaining to all the relatives all the time, I am known as the bad one. Oh well, I enjoy it. In a weird way, I get away with a hell of a lot more, because they expect it.

I am. What makes me so different? I grew up in a WASP family in rural WV. I'm a feminist, liberal, pro-human-rights, pro-choice, pro-gay-rights, Wiccan, tree-hugging, dirtworshipping hippy. Other than that, I fit right in.

I am. It got to a point where in my parents were going to have a divorce because of me.. so yeah. I'm the culprit BUT i've changed (at least I tried/try to).

My sister she constantly ran away from home and when she reappeared she would steal from you then off again,i havnt seen her in nearly 40 years i dont think i would know her if i passed her in the street.

My little brother. About 25 out of his 46 years have been in prison. He is STILL the "entire" family favorite, tho'. The man never met a stranger!

<Puts hand up> Guilty. My Uncle almost disowned me. My family has a 250 year tradition of serving in the British Army.I was expected to at least join the Canadian Army, preferably Artillery. I joined the Canadian Navy as a signalman. The only Squid in all the serving members of my immediate family.Ever. The upside? I can tell him to go F*&^ himself in morse and he'd never know.

I thought I was until I referred to myself as such and my oldest brother slapped me and said I had no right to say that because he had not given up the title yet.

That would have to be me. I have a very strict Christian family and alot of them are unhappy with me because I have turned away from alot of their beliefs. I believe in God, but I don't think being a Christian gives you the right to judge any one for any reason and think you are better than them.

My uncle. 1. he is the only male that is not "by marage" 2. he chooses to be 3. we didn't know he was married till he asked to use my grandmas scanner to scan his marage license

we have a few... in the older generation it is my uncle on my moms side and my aunt on my dads... then for the younger gen it is definetly ME!!!!!! can u tell that it doesnt bother me to be like everyone else!!!

Me. I am a non-engineer (like all the rest of my family including my mom), did not go to Georgia Tech (went to rival UGA) and vote predominantly Republican (everyone else a life long democrat).

myself and both of my brothers, we are all 3 recovering heroin addicts (5 yrs clean) so obviously we were all looked down apon for a long time.

I am. I'm the one who's different than everyone else, and I'm really glad I am, but sometimes it can make life difficult. We seldom do things I want to do, especially on vacation, because I'm overruled 3-1, and they all resent/dislike me to some degree...

No blacksheep in our family. Maybe my dad, but then again, he was not really a part of the family in the truest sense of the word. I grew up without him.

If you ask my parents, it would be my only sister because she is just a pain in the behind! but if you ask me then I would say myself since I think I am the only one in my family that is still sane!

i AM the blacksheep i am this way because they made me this way i am absolutely no different from anyone else, and they chose me, out of my 2 brother, 5 sisters, and parents, to be the misfit. who was it that 'chose' me? the 9 people i live with. it is BECAUSE of this is why i hate them so committed and in no other order

I reckon the blacksheep would be me. Because I have caused more trouble and got into more trouble than any of my siblings. And then of course in second place is my 'crazy aunt Mona'

There are three people in my family who would qualify as black sheep: My cousin, a heroin addict (and who molested me when I was six, but I'm the only one who knows about that). Another of my cousins, who went to prison at eighteen years old because a baby died while he was babysitting it. And me, a bisexual atheist. You would think that I would not be grouped with the other two just based on those small things, but in my family, just one of them is enough to make everyone pretend you don't exist.

Me, woo-hoo! I have one older brother and 3 older male cousins and they are all hugely successful. I got married, had 3 kids really young, got divorced...but I'm gaining a tiny bit of ground now that I too am a college grad-a Nurse.

I am. My mom's side of the family hates my dad's side of the family, and my dad's side of the family hates my mom's side. I like both, so everybody treats me like a traitor.

Definitely me in my immediate family. My dad used to be a baptist preacher and my parents are hyper-evangelical. I lean more towards being Anglican/ Episcopal, go to a design school, make things in a more open environment, secretly date some one they threatened to take away my college founding for if I ever communicated with him again, and do not believe everything the church teaches (because God in the bible, with careful examination, says different things than the Church currently teaches). Oh well. They still should love me anyway, once they get over how different my choices are from theirs.
