It all depends on if there are children, their ages, your stress level and the amount of sleep you have. I am not indicative of the average middle age female. I usually have sex 3/week except during my period. Once or twice/week when the kids were younger. I never self-masterbated untill I was forty. As I have gotten older, the quality of the encounter is better. The older you get the more you feel comfortable concentrating on your own feelings. If you know that your partner is there for the long haul, you tend not to worry about the way you act or look as much. He does not have to prove himself, so he can relax and enjoy.
