  • I was in the same position a few months ago. This is what worked for me. Try rocking him in the rocking chair and reading him a book. Then after a week or two of doing this, put him in his crib, and sit in a chair next to the crib and read him a book. That way the routine is not drastically changing. Then after a couple more weeks just put him in the crib and turn the lights off and leave the room. He may fuss for a while but, if it is "bed time" he will most likely fall asleep ina short period of time. I waited until I was SURE that he was tired and ready to go to sleep before doing this, otherwise my son just got right up and wanted to play. It worked for us! Good luck to you!
  • A book called the "No Cry Sleep Soulution" worked wonders for our family, I'd suggest it. We went from rocking till asleep to rocking till very drowsy and having long blinks, but still awake, then we'd put baby in crib and stay there till she fell asleep, we very gradually put her down a little earlier and intereacted a little less (went from rubbing back and singing to sitting in the rocking chair to just leaving). The changes were slow and grudual but saved us all alot of stress and there was almost no crying involved at all. Best of luck!
