Limp Home Mode is a feature you'll find on most full size GM trucks produced after 1999. Basically, upon a loss of engine coolant, the computer will alternately fire upon 4 alternating cylanders, rather than all 8. This will allow you to travel about 50 miles at about 50 mph, to get to a safe place.
