Hi, Psy..Happy November 1 ! We do this because we love our kids and want to delight them and bring some magic to their lives while they are young..we can do this only then..because when they grow up they go out into the world and see things as they are, not as we would like them to be..so no, it is not lying in the usual sense of the word, but loving! :)

I still believe there is a Santa Claus...he lives in each of us that ever believed as a child. I'm glad that we can pass that tradition down to the next generation, and we still tell the stories of how we (their parents & cousins) actually saw him flying through the sky when we were younger.

For me it was a big part of the magic of childhood. It was fun to anticipate the arrival of my Christmas presents, coins from the Tooth Fairy or the basket from the Easter Bunny. It gave me a day to where I felt special that this being would see to it that I wasn't left out of anything. I felt a part of something wonderful and magical. When I found out later that they were just my Mom, it didn't make me feel betrayed or anything. It just explained all the bloody fingerprints on the bicycles.
