Traffic Regulation 376.3.5 sub paragraph 9 clause f(iii): "When following slow moving traffic that is following a police car, you may pass all of the cars except the police car. Try not to make it obvious to the police in their car." Come on! Everyone knows that :)

Generally, at drive time, most police cars will do either one of the following: 1. drive in the slow lane, to the right, and let people proceed to their jobs. 2. drive in the fast lane, going the speed limit, in order to slow speeders down. 3. avoid the interstate and state highways, altogether, to allow people to drive to work and hope for the best. I try to set the pace for drivers. you would be surprised at the number of drivers that pass a police car, when the officer is going the speed limit. i usually just give a warning. This answer is given from an officer's point of view.
