Great casting, in my opinion. I've seen the musical at least twice and I own the soundtrack. I love it. It's dark and twisty and in places AWFULLY funny. You laugh at the same time you're thinking "omigod."

I have yet to see it, but I REALLY want to. It hasn't come within 65 miles of my home, yet. The previews look excellent!

I did. But I liked the Len Cariou/Angela Lansbury version also. Both good. They were different treatments.

i just saw it a few days ago and loved it. i didn't know what to expect with johnny depp and helena bonham carter singing, but i think they pulled it off really well. another tim burton (and johnny depp) movie i have fallen in love with. :)

yes, I love the movie Sweeney Todd! It's my favorite now! I never saw the stage musical, but I love the movie. It's amazing! Johnny Depp did great! And Alan Rickman was really good too! All the actors were wonderful! Amazing...

I did, but I love everything Tim Burton does. I'd never heard of Sweeney Todd before and did some research after watching. It's much worse than the movie portrays.

Absolute brilliance! With Johnny Depp's history I think this role was "made" for him! The same goes for Alan Rickman. He fits this twisted obsession role pretty well. I sang the song "Green Finch and Linnet Bird" and I think it is fascinating! The music is excellent everything about it is sheer modern genius!
