They are called pore bearers because they are covered with millions of tiny holes or pores. Water flows through the holes into the interior of the sponge, and from the water the sponges take in oxygen and the tiny organisms that they 'eat'. The water moving out carries away CO2 and digestive wastes.. Sponges have no mouth or digestive cavity, no nervous system, and no circulatory system. Several types of cells are present, but they do not form tissues,(Tissues are groups of similar cells bound together to perform a common function, like muscles) or organs (Organs are groups of tissues that perform amore complicated function, like a stomach) There is not even a pump to move the water in and out. Each type of cell acts on its own, some cells digest the food, others pump water in others out. They got no stomach, no heart, no eyes, it doesn't sound like an exciting life but it is their hole life and they live it holey. Even if they are bored with holes they aren't bored with holes cause they caught no brain to realize how bored with holes they are.

Now that's just strange. Pore-Bearer SquarePants just sounds wrong.
