  • I would recommend a coat of primer first, it will give a nice even solor for the pait to lay on. Then paint away!!
  • It's better to prepare the wall with primer and undercoat. The paint adheres better.
  • I agree with 'wickels' a primer and then a undercoat is the best way to go ....been there and done it !:):)
  • Undercoat is the way to go. Removing wallpaper usually leaves an uneven color on the walls. I like the brand called Kilz. Another bonus of an undecoat is that you can usually get the color paint on in one coat afterwards.
  • YOu must prime it first. Drywall is very thirsty and the paint will just get sucked right into the drywall. YOu will spend a lot of money of paint that way. It's better economically and it will make for a better , longer lasting paint job if you prime first. If youare going to paint a darker color, be sure you tint the primer too. They can do this for you at the paint store. It is well worth it.
  • if you damages dry wall you need patching and sanding then %100 need to primed
  • Ideally you should put a coat of quality acrylic primer to seal the surface and then put on two coats of latex paint. Then sit back for years and enjoy
  • the paper may leave glue behind in which case the paint won't adhere properly. try washing it first with TSP tri sodiumphosphate then prime then paint.
  • I'm not positive but I think I know you should put a coat of primer on first then you let it dry of course then you can paint another coat of coleors like read, blue, green, and so on.
