I just bought a new laptop. I installed itunes and synched the ipod. The only thing that transferred over were the songs I have purchased. How do I get all the songs from CD's on the ipod to the itunes list?

The only way I know how to do this is to re-rip the cd's. Sorry.

iPods are one way streets. You can only transfer stuff from the computer on to them, not the other way around, unfortunately. Have you wiped your old computer clean yet? If not, you may be able to directly connect your old computer to your new one (I used a firewire for my Macs, though it may be different for PCs, go to Best Buy or something and ask them) and basically drag and drop the music files from your old hard drive onto your new one. It's pretty cool, and faster than ripping the CDs all over again or trying to email yourself the stuff from your old computer. Good luck!

i called apple about this problem last night. they suggested that i download another program to do this for me. copytrans was the 1st one i tried, not too bad but you only get to transfer so many songs before they want to charge you. good luck.
