  • It depends on how long you have had it. Anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days.
  • hi yes it does heal i asked my doctor before i took it out because i didn't want a hole in my tounge and he sed it will heal in a few days and i would have no further problems
  • If you haven't had it for that long it will close up very quickly. However, I've heard that no matter how long you've had it, it will close up in a day or so. Other people say a couple days, but everyone seems to agree that it will close up within a couple days.
  • As everyone said, a few days. But truthfully, I retired my tongue piercing about a decade ago. I can still fit 20g and sometimes 18g jewelry into it...I actually stretched it back to 14g a few years ago to see if it as possible. So while your hole will probably shrink to almost nothing in a few days, there's a chance that a teeny tiny hole that you'll never notice will always remain, unless you've stretched it to an unusually large size.
  • Okay so i got my tongue pierced on Monday. It's the fourth day of the piercing and it's still swollen and it hurts really bad when i wake up and then through out the day i get pains throughout my whole tongue. I have been using ice everyday all day long. Also not eating dairy which is hard because everything at my house is dairy. So here is my question: How long did it take for your tongue to heal, get unswollen, and not hurt anymore? What mouth wash did you guys use? my friends told me to use lystorin. Is that the wrong stuff?
