  • Or how about anything negative is "gay" like "that movie was gay" or "that car is gay". Yes heterosexual society is constantly making homo and bi people into a negative - either consciously or otherwise. Some of the colorful metaphors used by many such as "suck my C***" is derogatory because it usually is said to another man - ergo hinting at homosexuality. We are raised in a world where these tiny hints that "gay is wrong" programs many of us to believe that being gay is wrong. Unfortunately human sexuality is little understood by most people. Go and read the pregnancy boards - see how many times "am I pregnant because..." comes up. This is another sign that our culture is still very closed about sex and sexuality.
  • I knew a gay man who adamantly denied being homosexual for years, not knowing I really don't care what he did with his body as long as he was a good person. Right now, it's still outside the norm where I live. So people will say things like that without thinking of how it makes others feel. But a lot of the time, it's just shock and curiosity...often mistaken for judgment.
  • I think there are a lot of people that grew up believing it was sexually devient people who had same gender sex. In our current society, people are being more open to it. Many churches still think it is wrong and preach that. Science has said it was genetically possible to be gay. Even with that knowledge, it is still seen as a negative by many. But, the number is slowly changing... someday it will be no big deal, but that is far off.
  • Okay, let me ask a question first 2 answer this one, are all heterosexuals 100% sure that they're 100% (or more i may say) straight? I really doubt it if they say yes (even if it was said face 2 face to me). This is because in nature we're practically bisexual beings, we're attracted 2 both sexes (if not what else we're attracted to? There is no other sex type other than male or female n practically that's the only sex type existed in this world for all species that reproduce sexually!). Scientificly, it was also proven true. Even in animals species i may say! it could be as small as a curiosity/admiration or as big as a libido,it's still an ATTRACTION! Returning back 2 the question, 'heterosexuals' people do make homosexuals a problem in our society n If i was the one hearing that comment i would rather nonchalantly reply 2 him/her " u r practically a lil' bit gay yourself n do u see me making a fuss of it!"
  • If a heterosexual society MAKES homosexuality a problem there is a question of intention versus perception. Anything and everything is a matter of perspective. No one can MAKE another person anything. They cannot make them gay they cannot make them straight. They cannot make them mad they cannot make them happy. All of this comes from within and whatever feelings we have are what we ourselves make them to be. If homosexuality is still stigmatized it is because homosexuals are the ones who believe it is bad. If they believed it was good then heterosexuality would become non existent. Since the world has to come to acceptance, that is a big indicator that homosexuality was not the intention in the beginning which is also evident in that the population would cease to increase if everyone was homosexual. That means there are going to be inner forces within each individual that causes feelings of negativity about homosexuality. These feelings will be in every human whether gay or straight. Repsecting people's choices is the only solution and the real problem with society. Homosexuality is not the problem, lack of respect is. Besides all of this, if heterosexual couples are offended then they are capable of reinventing what their relationship means to them and to all opposite couples. If Christians are offended, they have the responsibility to be faithfull to their fellow man and to be tolerant. Another real problem here and in all problems is fear. knowingly or not, most people, most of the time respond from fear. fear that is subtle or fear that is physiological. People are afraid and they need to be secure with themselves and not worry about external environments.
  • being gay is against nature and if you belive in god its against that too so yes it is wrong. it is a mental illness that should be addressed and fixed not accepted. im sick and tired of gay rights this and that what about straight rights to not have to deal with them mentally ill people? all i can say is this 8===D + >--- = baby, 8===D + 8===D or ---< + >--- = nothing but maybe a std. LOLZ!!! as a after note it states in the law someplace that no one group shall be given special privlages above another this includes gay people in case you think your "special" beyound the fact that you are broken in the brain someplace.
  • Not anymore. I often hear people say "He's a liberal, you know?" "Really?" or "He's a presbyterian, you know?" "Really?" I think it's simply curiosity. Some people will have reactions to it (as they would to him being liberal or presbyterian). So what? And by the way, it's not "our heterosexual society". Our society belongs to EVERYONE of every religious belief, sexuality, ethnicity, race, gender and age. It's certainly not "our heterosexual society". We are about as homogeneous as it's possible to get.
  • Yes, I agree. Really, who is affected by homosexuals other than other homosexuals? As far as the never-ending complaint of "that guy hit on me!" from heterosexual males... so what? Say no. Also, I am certain that just about every heterosexual male has been hit on by a woman they are not interested in. Big deal. The same can be applied to lesbians. Homophobes seem to see homosexuals as walking genitalia with nothing going on in their lives than the pursuit of sex. That is ridiculous.
  • Yes, I think our heterosexual society does make homosexuality a problem when it shouldn't be.
  • Only those breeders who are secretly in love with the emancipated homos, do so.
