Does anyone know of a good portable heater for a car? My heater stopped working.

A block heater will heat the coolant and make it so that the hot air comes on immediately after turning on the vehicle. A problem with the heater could be the a) fan b) vents c) some hidden problem like a vacuum line. Take it to a shop for a look and see what would be involved in getting it fixed. If it's a $5 vacuum line and 1/2hr of labour then you are looking at about $50, or half the price of a good quality safe heater.
