Don't quote me on this but i think its 4

I don't think there is an actual rule, though I may be wrong. It is definitely not 4, though. 4 is the "standard" minimum number of days between starts. During close series in the playoffs, you will often here people talk about starters pitching again on "3 days rest", which is considered very short. Occasionally you will also have starters come back and pitch relief in high pressure situations during playoff series. Josh Beckett had said he was available to pitch relief in Game 7 of the ALCS, if he was needed. (he had started Game 5 and went 8 innings)

There is NO rule on starting pitching in MLB, but starters usually take 3-4 days to recover completely.

As others have said, there is no rule on this. If Beckett feels good to go every day, he can start every game as far as the rules are concerned. Limits are only imposed by rule on young, developing pitchers (ie. little league and teens) to protect them from injury through overuse.

He can pitch today if he wants to. I wouldn't worry though. You won't see him in Game 5. There won't be a Game 5 lol.

You just dont see them going day in and day out because they will not have the same stuff if they throw day after day. There arms need time to relax. Me pitching in the minors for 5 years if i would have thrown more than one time a week i wouldnt have lasted that long.

THERE IS NO RULE! Remember in game 7 of this year's ALCS Beckett and Sabathia were both in the bullpen ready to throw if needed. They were the starters in game 5.
