Your engine is overheating - don't force your car to run if it's overheating (coolant temperature needle is at red zone) or you'll melt and damage parts in your engine. Check to make sure you have coolant in your reservoir tank - if not refill it to the max level line. If your coolant disappears, then you may have a leak. You'll need to buy a new radiator (about $100 from your local auto parts store) or if you're lucky it might just be a worn out radiator cap (about $9). Possibly just the starter is going bad and is affected by the heat of the engine. If it is a stick shift, try popping the clutch to start the engine.
