You shouldn't get them unless you know how to use them or are being taught. You can damage your muscles and/or hurt yourself badly attempting to dance en pointe when you don't know how.

no way, i wouldn't risk it. just take pointe classes until you're ready :)

don't buy them just because you want them. wait until you are ready and you know how to use them, you could injure yourself.

I had takin regular ballet for about 4 yrs before i got into pointe. My dance teacher told us ( class) of 26 students that half of the class wouldn't get into pointe it.My dance teacher was real hard on us but is was for the better. :) Ur ankles have to be very very strong before u get into pointe or u are going to hurt ur self. plus u can't go in to a dance store that sales dance cloths & shoes ect. & buy pointe shoes. Quick true story : I was getting new pointe shoes for the new dance yr which was my 2nd yr. Mother & duaghter came into the store & the duaghter said i what some of those shoes that girl has on & the mother said ok but then i heard one of the sales lady tell her that she couldn't buy them for her duaghter cause she had to be enrolled in a dance studio to be able to buy them & the sales lady said that ur daughter could hurt herself if she didn't know how to dance in them. Trust me I've hurt myself in pointe shoes thats only because my box broke @ a dress rehearsal right before the dance recital! Right after my dance act was done i changed into my next dance outfit but i don't cry alot but it hurt so bad that i was crying through out the rehearsal!!!& there was nothing i could do!!! So i had to dance on that broken box!! & it hurt sooo bad that i had to go to a doctor!

if u havent done ballet in a while or gone up in demi point for like a really long time ur ankle are probaly not strong enough. If i were u get into point class b4 u start.

I would not get point shoes because its not safe. You should only get them when your teachers believe your ready. I also want point shoes because its so beautiful and it looks cool, but I waiting for my teachers to belive I am ready. I would talk to your teachers about what they think and what is delaying you from going onto point. Remember, one false move on point shoes and you won't be dancing at all@
