How can I prolong the life of my turbocharger?

    The best and easiest thing is to let the car idle for about 20 or so seconds (see manual) after driving it before you shut the car off. This allows the bearings in the compressor to slow down. If you drive wright in your driveway and shut the engine off, the bearings are still spinning at a good rate of speed, when you shut off the motor they still spin for a while with no oil pressure to keep them lubricated.

    install a shut down timer that will idle you engine for a couple of minutes to let the turbo cool down and not run w/o oil.also run a good synthentic oil.

    Keep your oil changed/clean (if oil lubed).As stated above, a cool-down period is ideal also to prevent 'coking' .A condition of oil baking on hot bearings, turning into what looks like dried coke.
