I think this is a western idea -- in asian medicine, you starve sickness by eating low impact meals like fruit and soup, and let your immune system focus on getting better.

Feed a cold, starve a fever, punch a person who has both. Why? do you have both? :)
-
Drink?
-
Eat diet food!
-
What ever makes you feel better. Just make sure to stay hydrated by drinking enough fluids! Hope you feel good soon!

TEQUILA

sounds backwards to me. isn't feed a fever stave a cold. meaning if you have a fever make yourself hotter to break the fever if you have a cold then bundle up to keep warm. either way it should indicate keeping your body warm when your sick.
-
Yes, feed a cold starve a fever, but if you have both go with what you feel like. As long as you drink plenty of fluids it doesn't matter how much you eat.
-
SUFFER!! no, sorry lol. I have a cold to right now so there ya go. If you have both, you take hot showers when you feel like it, sleep when you feel like it, eat when you feel like it, and puke when you feel like it, until you feel like getting out of bed.
-
Um, do half and half? I don't know. XD
-
Binge and purge? (Of course this is not actual advice).
-
I suggest you go dooking.

The way the old saying goes and what it means are two different things. What it probably meant was "If you feed a cold now, you'll have to starve a fever later." Think of it like this; if you were cold or chilled, you would want to put something inside to warm you up. IF you were burning up, why add to the heat or give it fuel, so you don't 'feed' the fever. In fact, recently some scientists have found that eating a meal boosts the type of immune response that destroys the viruses responsible for colds, while fasting stimulates the response that tackles the bacterial infections responsible for most fevers. So actually they've discovered it's not a myth after all!!! So what dictates the 'feeding schedule' is if you have that fever.

switch on to watery diets.. as in substitute with juices and drinks..

If you have cold symptoms and a fever it's probably the flu. I say starve it but drink lots of fluids.
