  • I've been trying to get one going, so I'm in! See my profile. I've also had DYOH in my userid for a few days.
  • I'm signing up - how will they ever learn if they don't research it themselves!
  • To be fair, they are questions...and we are here to answer questions, I don't just give an answer to a homework question, but I do try to point people in the right direction and help them workout the answer themselves. So, sorry, I take your point, but for me its a no.
  • Count me in.....they waste time asking instead of doing!
  • Count me in. The ones that really bother me are the ones that are blatantly obvious that they are homework questions. Such as numbering their questions. At least make an effort to disguise your homework questions in an attempt to not make an effort into doing your homework.
  • Well they are legitimate questions. Probably more legit than those asked by adults here. If you really don't like them, just ignore them or flag them. It's so easy to deal with such questions.
  • Soo... You want to start a club, that bitches at people for asking questions they want to know the answer to. Sounds good, because here on Answer Bag we discourage learning.
  • 100%! I even requested that they take out the homework category...it's such a waste to the ABers who are here for the real questions/answers
  • Most definately. That really bugs me too....probably for the fact that when I was in school I either didn't know about answer bag or it did not exist and I had to get all my information the traditional way...at the library out of encyclopedias! Kids have it way easier now with easier access to internet...they should be thankful for that and try using wikipedia or something. It's just plain lazy to get on AB and ask questions regarding your homework! I bet a good percentage of the time the answers that they do get, the AB users just googled it anyway! DYOH!!
  • Sure. Even though I'm still in school. I don't use this site for homework. I use my books for homework.
  • Honestly, no. Of course, not all homework questions are the same. I agree that questions like "what is x? 2x^2 - 5x + 1 = 12" should not be allowed, as it's obvious the person is too lazy to try and solve the equation. HOWEVER, I think it's perfectly acceptable to ask questions like "I'm having problems solving a quadratic equation, could someone please try to explain it to me in a way so I can understand it?" as it shows that they've tried and failed, and is now asking for advice. The same goes with questions related to reports or essays. I don't think it's okay to ask about specific questions for an assignment (like "what is the name of the 43rd atomic element?"), but if you're stuck in a report and need a certain piece of information, I can't see how that's wrong
  • It's that time of year again... anyone want to join the DYOH club?
