  • I think the more sensitve and considerate people are of opposing or different views, the better off the world will be. Say what you want, but learn how to say it kindly.
  • It's B.S.. Right or wrong, say what you mean.
  • Some not all. Some of us say what we mean no matter what.
  • I think if anything it's encouraged people to become more offensive in the hope of becoming some kind of anti-PC hero.
  • I have only ever heard 'political correctness' mentioned in a derogatory sense, which leads me to believe it is a rather clever concept created by lazy, rich, white men who don't want to have to care about other people.
  • Constantly, it's one of my biggest pet peeves. My feeling is that anyone can find anything offensive, so no matter how politically correct we are, we're still bound to offend someone if they choose to be offended. I say "choose," because I believe it is a choice to be offended and that we should each take responsibility for our feelings instead of expecting others to know what will or will not offend us!
  • Political correctness seems lame at times. I would prefer seeing some of the political bluntness of the 70s make a comeback.
  • Excuse me, but your question is offensive to Persons of Quadriplegia, whose nervous systems below their necks can't transmit signals to their brains.
  • No, because it's another point of view, which is equally as valid as mine.
  • Politically Correct: Being politically correct is just another way to tip toe through the barnyard and not getting manure on your shoes...you don’t track any in the house...but you still smell like s@#t...
  • Yes. All the time...but on the other hand, I don't have to be politically correct very much because I don't own a large company or greet people at the door of a department store.
  • What gets on my nerves with PC is that so many people fail to see the power of words, and how they can shape peoples thinking. They make fun of the tolerance and freedom that moving out of the realm of stereotypes is actually involved. Part of the very reason they hate PC is because they are subconsciously aware of how words can be used to force certain ideas into or out of popular use.
  • I think its been the most effective form of censorship in history for the least cost or effort. Everyone has way too thin a skin these days and in our sue-happy society you can get nailed for merely offending someone. By trying to offend no one we've succeeded in offending most everyone, I find the inability to take a stance on something because you don't want to offend someone to be disgusting. I have the right to free speech, you have the right to disagree with me or be offended by what I say, there is no right to not be offended or to use the law as a gag for that which does offend you.
  • I see the most politically correct people act like monsters against a non-PC person. At times, it seems like a fad to me. I have even read people in this very question use derogatory words against people that are anti-PC. Seems kind of a sham... If people are nice, they should just be nice. If they are a*&holes, hey, let it shine. Then at least we will be dealing with honesty, and not worry that one is using words from some list in order to appear friendly...
