Well, when my husband-to-be took me to meet them I was very nervous. But after a while, I just thought about my Bible and my church, and I knew that they would accept me as they went to church too. They were church going people, just like me, and since our engagement until my poor, dear husband died we all went to church together, as a family, every Sunday, and never missed a day.

My boyfriends family lives 1000 miles away so there was a lot of build up to actually getting to meet them. It was 8 months into our relationship before we could both find the time to drive that distance. When we finally got there it was an awkward initial meet as I went to shake his mom's hand and she went in for a hug. Haha. But they were an amazingly friendly family so that helped ease things right away.

Well, I'll preface this with a little story. Before I met my bf's mother, he made sure to explain to me that she was an Italian, Catholic mother, and she uses guilt and all that catholic-y/Italian-y stuff, I was SO nervous! Also meeting his father (they're divorced), I was terrified. Not in a bad way, like he would hate me- but they explained that his father was my BF times 10. Wow! When I actually met them, they are both the sweetest parents EVER! They are totally awesome people, and it went really well. They went out of their way to make me feel welcomed and invited, and they haven't stopped since. :)
