Edinburgh. It is the most "European" of cities in Britain, has a magnificent castle on a volcano, has stunning Georgian and Victorian architecture, Princes Street, wonderful museums, Sir Walter Scott, Robert Louis Stevenson, and is in Scotland. Now beat that.
