  • I don't think so, coins are inconvenient really. They jingle and get lost in your purse easily. Paper money can be folded and tucked away easier in your pocket or wallet.
  • I prefer paper money. Don't like having coins. But, in the end it really doesn't matter...it all spends the same!
  • change is annoying to count out..
  • No. Coins are a nuisance.
  • Coins are so much heavier as we have discovered in the UK.
  • No, they are a pain to use because they are almost the same size as a quarter.
  • of course, we use it in Canada, it's much better for the economy, people are spending it much easier.
  • Heavens no! A $100 bill weighs nothing...what do you think 100 $1 coins would weigh? :)
  • I would like it. When I went to the UK I thought it was more convenient to have 1 dollar coins. I think it is a good idea. It would be easier on vending machines too.
  • Probably, but when we do, I'll hate it. Coins weigh a ton and they don't look like "real money." A dollar starts looking more like chicken feed (which it probably is - but it'll spend even faster if more of us start viewing it that way). The government's argument is that paper bills wear out fast and have to be reprinted, which is expensive, whereas coins last a long time. True - but when I consider all the OTHER ways in which the government has NO interest in conserving my tax dollars, I'm not very impressed at the prospect of saving them/us printing money.
  • Coins are heavy, take time to count out,the dollar is almost the same size as the quarter;they are way to much trouble!!
  • I have heard that the original reason they are doing so many $1 coins is to wean people off of the paper dollars. Then they would do it for $2 and $5 bills and so on and eventually get people off paper money. But now they are testing paper money that is coated with a polymer that extends the life of a dollar and is nearly impossible to counterfeit. So they may do that instead. We will see....
  • NO, THEIR THE SIZE OF QUARTERS
