  • The "big city". The quality of the courses offered by universities and colleges is not dependent on their location, although living in an urban area may provide additional benefits related to your field of study. Students in a theatre program, for example, in a large city can benefit from the number and variety of theatres that a student can observe or work at as co-op students, while a small town may offer none. Some cities are great places and are quite stimulating for an individual because of the wider environment they offer. I really enjoyed my years as a student in urban MontrĂ©al, while receiving secondary and post-secondary education. (I admit that I may have enjoyed some of these years a little too much.) Unfortunately, some cities seem to me to be little more than dumping grounds for our society.
