  • maybe your tail light was out or your blinker was on
  • If the road was a bit bumpy and the car behind you had bad shocks, it may have just LOOKED to you like the headlights were flashing, when in reality the were moving up and down with the front of the car,
  • Maybe you were an obidient citizen driving the correct speed limit and the jerk behind you wanted you to either go faster or get off the road. Just a thought.
  • Being jerks.
  • Sometimes cars flash their lights to warn on coming traffic that there's a radar trap ahead...
  • He could have been trying to tell you something. Maybe he noticed you had a flat tire, broken light, or something else that could be dangerous.
  • He may have been a flasher.
  • Assuming good motives, he may have noted something wrong with your car or your driving. You might check for faulty taillights or a wobbly wheel or something hanging down under your vehicle. He may have felt you were driving too slowly for the conditions or that there was some other problem. The type of road, the area and other circumstances could dictate why he did this. If he took no agressive actions, it probably isn't a reason to worry. Most drivers try to help, not harm. Good question
  • Driving too slow or doing the speed limit? If you were, sometimes that pisses some people off and they try to get around you, and 'tell' you to let them pass you, if you don't understand the signal, they will try to pass you over the double-yellow or just keep flashing their lights to piss YOU off. Always happens up here on the mountain roads, so I just adapt and go the speed they want to go.
  • Usually people who flash lights are trying to indicate that you need to speed up a bit or allow them to pass you. Next time, change lanes or turn off and allow this person to get past you, you certainly don't need a tailgater.
  • It was a gang initiation, they flash their light you pull over to see what the problems is and they do a complete remodel of your car ala "Pimp my Ride"
  • He may have been warning you to slow down if he knew a cop was up ahead or he may have been telling you that your lights weren't working or just weren't on.
  • Your back wheels had fell off, did you not notice?!
