I don't know if it was fixed or not, but it's bs either way.

Well..he DID, after all, invent the internet a few years back and got nothing for that. I didn't even know he got the NPP..what was he supposed to have done? Did he ride on someone else's coattails again?

I find it interesting that the Nobel Committee chose to give this award to Al Gore (for his work in bringing global warming to the attention of the world) in the very same week that a British court found that his film, "An Inconvenient Truth" lies on 9 points (http://newparty.co.uk/articles/inaccuracies-gore.html). I think that this just to show that the Nobel Committee is more interested in making political statements than it is in recognizing people who are actually promoting peace in the world.

What do you mean by "fixed"? An academic board (academics, on average, are left of centre) from a left leaning country gave an award to a high profile left-leaning politician. What need to "fix" anything? Are you suggesting they were bribed, or something? What need/ They were just doing what comes naturally - to them. The fact that it doesn't come naturally to you doesn't require any conspiracy theories, it just requires people to be different.

I think it was politically motivated, since Sweden is one of the most Liberal nations on Earth...

The Nobel PEACE Prize is always politically (and ideologically) motivated. Now, is there a tacit conspiracy among the squash-headed Left? Evidently. Did certain interested parties at (and behind) the UN communicate with their friends on the selection board and let them know what a boon that would be for their cause? More than likely. Were other inducements added to influence their choice? Quite possibly, but by no means necessary given the attitudes and biases of most of the selection board.
